Regional climate and energy work promotion project 2018–2019

The Regional climate and energy work promotion project encouraged SMEs and municipalities in North Karelia to sign the energy efficiency agreement and provided energy advice for businesses, municipalities and residents.

A webinar on launching climate work was arranged for municipalities alongside consultancy service about signing the energy efficiency agreement. Businesses were also offered sparring in energy efficiency and energy audits as an outsourced service by a consultant. The consultant visited seven businesses, informing them in detail about the energy efficiency agreement, how to sign it, energy subsidy and suitable investments and gave advice on energy efficiency investments worth planning. An environmental responsibility day for businesses was organised at the Science Park, where businesses could present their environmental responsibility measures and services.

Energy guidance pop-up events organised for residents included an energy walk at Setlementtiasunnot, a clinic for switching mobile phones into energy saving mode, an energy evening on single-family house heating systems for residents of such houses, and a renewable energy evening at the library, where participants discussed acquisition of solar energy and demand response of electricity.

The Regional climate and energy work promotion project operated from 1 September 2018 to 30 April 2019. It was funded by the Energy Authority.
